Career Success Starts Here: Job Search Tips and Career Development Strategies

Greetings, my lovely readers! I hope this newsletter finds you well. My apologies for the delay in sending out this issue. The excitement of the first race of the 2023 Formula One season and the recent release of the fifth season of "Drive to Survive" has caused a temporary dip in my productivity. That being said, I have some valuable information to share with you today. Let’s dive in!

Prompt Engineer

As you may remember, I previously discussed the game-changing consumer app ChatGPT and how employers are using machine algorithms to screen resumes. I highly recommend leveraging the power of ChatGPT to create your resume. The logical process includes keyword extraction, ranking, and comparison. If you need assistance, I offer prompt consultation services for a fee.

Rants

Recently, I have been exploring the question of "what stops us from improving?" I think that, at some point, it is not the lack of knowledge but rather the lack of empathy, understanding, and perspective. We tend to think that humans are complex and unpredictable, which is what separates us from machines. As a full-time consultant, I have recognized among my peers that those who excel are often the people who can understand and translate clients' needs into plain language. It is a skill that I have grasped but have yet to fully internalize.

However, I believe it is essential for us to view things from a higher level. Our own perspectives are just some among the many that others have. Our ability to assess a full array of viewpoints in a meritocratic way, rather than a self-possessive way, determines how well we make responses or decisions. And it is not just about the point of view, but also the context. Context matters a lot - how we and others behave/react in a given situation can provide insight for us when making decisions.

Concerns

The chance of the US defaulting is on the rise, and this is concerning as there's a lack of data and models for predicting its impact on the economy at a micro or macro level. As a result, we encourage you to take a cautious approach by cutting back on spending and increasing your cash holdings. There may be an opportunity to purchase stock equity in Q2/Q3, and aerospace and defense stocks should perform well, especially with the US increasing its involvement in the Pacific Asia region. The outcome of the war in Ukraine this April may also impact the market.

That’s it for this issue. Feel free to let me know what you think or want to see more in the newsletter!
